The employer provides batteries, lighting and portable power.Staff, organize and direct a sales organization. Responsibilities include selecting new employees, developing existing employees, establishing performance standards for and evaluating performance of employees, and recommending personnel actions (promotion, terminations, salary actions, etc.). Assist managers in selecting, managing and evaluating brokers where applicable.Develop annual business plan for overall sales force and for assigned channels and accounts. Work with direct reports to prepare preliminary forecasts, based on knowledge of business conditions and customer plans and provide required information to sales forecasting function. Participate in refinement of forecasts and review proposed sales compensation programs, providing input as to their probable effectiveness.Provide overall direction to sales management relative to the allocation of resources and time and work with them to prepare detailed operating plans. Make key account calls with managers and their brokers as required to accomplish desired results and to provide the necessary training and motivation.This position is responsible for the overall direction and success for the companys retail and commercial North America markets. Responsible for developing strategies for key accounts, key channels and targeted prospects. Select appropriate approaches for handling accounts/channels (own sales people vs. reps or brokers, etc). Decide on levels of account/territory coverage, considering the probable sales yield and the costs associated with alternative approaches.Work with other sales management and marketing personnel to develop new or improved strategies for increasing market share, penetrating key channels/accounts and effectively presenting the Batteries & Lights product lines.Oversee the development and execution of marketing communication plans and programs to internal and external customers.Approve recommendations for capital, operating and staffing budgets. Collaborate with other senior leaders in the development of a coordinated budget recommendation for approval. Provide fiscal oversight of allocated resources, assets and expenses. Make necessary decisions to adjust for variations in projected budge income caused by fluctuating volumes or other external factors.Lead direct reports in the execution of strategies and long range goals. Implement global level infrastructure and required changes to supporting systems. Ensure solutions to business challenges are implemented. Foster an accountable environment of goal setting and achievement.Qualified candidates should possess demonstrated sales successes with a minimum of 10 years management experience in Sales including at least 5 years experience at a senior sales management level.The ideal candidate should have documented experience acting as a change agent within an organization.Experience in consumer products industry is required.Experience working with mass market retailers in the grocery/drug/club/convenience channel is required.Bachelors degree is required; Masters degree preferred.
